In 2014, an updated version of the game that includes voice acting was released in Japan on the PlayStation Vita.
The sequel to Fate/stay night, Fate/hollow ataraxia was released by Type-Moon on Windows PC in 2005. The game’s story branches into three routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven’s Feel, each of which has received its own anime adaptation.
The story of Fate/stay night follows high schooler Shirou Emiya who inadvertently gets pulled into the Fourth Holy Grail War, a war among powerful mages called Masters who summon Heroic Spirits from throughout the ages to fight on their behalf as Servants all vying to be the last pair standing and claim the Holy Grail, which is said to grant any wish. Réalta Nua was later ported to the PlayStation Vita in 2012 and included new animations by Ufotable. This updated version of the game included voice acting and the true ending to the Fate route for the first time. A CERO C-rated version of the game titled Fate/stay night Réalta Nua which contained no sex scenes was releaesed on the PlayStation 2 in 2007. The first visual novel in the Fate franchise, Fate/stay night was released by Type-Moon for Windows PC in 2004.
